                                "Smasher"

Wildfire Border Collies
& Dog Training Services
Smasher is one of those incredibly rare dogs: a conformation champion, an obedience trial champion, and a herding champion.  He is among the elite Border Collies that carry the American Kennel Club's "TC" title.

Smasher's career shows a dog that is truly versatile with a love for working.

As a conformation Champion special with his co-owner Nancie Mages, Smash had an outstanding career.  Handled expertly by Kim Halcom this talented team piloted Smasher to many Best of Breed, Group wins, and BCSA Awards of Merit.  In addition Smasher earned 3 all breed Best In Show awards.

Smasher's obedience training was done by Pat Schulz.  He was such a pleasure to train and show.  Even while Smash was being "specialed" in conformation, he was busy earning a reputation in the obedience rings as a dog with speed and intensity.  While earning his obedience championship, Smasher never forgot his sense of humor.  And he often delighted spectator and judges alike with his performance antics.

With Pat by his side, Smasher breezed through his obedience titles with High In Trial and High Combined wins.  Smasher earned his Obedience Trial Championship while competing with some of the very best teams in competition today.

Now it's time for Smasher's kids to step forward and continue in his winning ways.  Already the Smasher kids are making their mark in the conformation and obedience rings.  He has sired Champion and Obedience Trial Champion kids.  These dogs have already gone on to excel in competition. We expect this trend to continue with many of his kids showing great promise.

"Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." Aristotle
Smasher was trained and handled in herding by Sean Hathaway.  Nancie Mages has always loved herding, and was just as determined as Smasher was that he could finish his AKC Herding Championship.

Our profound thanks go to Nancie Mages and Sean Hathaway for the miles driven and the hours spent letting Smasher do what he was born to do!
Retired and a veteran, Smasher still loves to work!
